Undefeated Chavon Davis ready to reignite career after 18-month absence

Light heavyweight Chavon Davis is ready to reignite his career as he makes a long-awaited return to the ring this month.

The Ohio big hitter (4-0-0, 4KOs) has been out of action for 18 months following a second round knockout over Latiss Norman but has been given the opportunity to kick-start his promising career by Bobby Harrison, founder of BiYu Boxing and BiYu Promotions.

Davis will feature as the co-main event on the very first BiYu Brawl on Saturday April 26th, a new regular boxing showcase at Harrison’s Club Hefe in Houston.

Once tipped to be fast-tracked to the top by former promoter Premier Boxing Champions, Davis is scheduled to face Georgia-based puncher Michael Nelson (4-1-0, 2KOs) over six rounds.

The 25-year-old southpaw steps into the ring looking to maintain his 100 percent knockout record and showcase his undoubted talent, which could secure him a contract with Harrison’s stable.

Harrison has described him as ‘the real deal’ having witnessed some explosive punching in his sparring sessions.

Davis, who had a standout amateur career, is ready to grasp the opportunity to get his career back on track.

He said: “I met Bobby through Chaise Nelson because we had a fight like a year ago. Chaise has been trying to help me get fights and to get a manager that could get me fights. He has helped me get with his manager and this is the start – so I’m grateful to both of them.

“I'm eager to get back in the ring as it's been so long. I don’t care who I fight, I'm going to make this one a good one. I'm going for another knockout for sure.

“I know this is a chance. Bobby has said if likes me and I show up, he's going to give me a contract. I need that to take my career on as I’m ambitious and my goal is I want to be a champion.”

The fight is one of six bouts that will feature a number of Harrison’s own fighters.

Headlining the card is super featherweight world title prospect Eridson Garcia (19-1-0, 12KOs) who will take on 26-year-old Nicaraguan Jeovanny Antonio Tellez (13-2-0, 9KOs)  over eight rounds. This will be Garcia’s first fight since his victory over William Foster III (18-2-0) in July 2024.
